Mark Weaver, MBA, M.A., CIM
Mark Weaver specializes in financial licensing instruction. He is a corporate training instructor contracted by the Canadian Securities Institute; clients included Scotiabank, TD, BMO Nesbitt Burns, Caldwell Securities, Burgundy Asset Management, Mavrix Mutual Funds, and Dynamic Mutual Funds. He was also involved with the Canadian Securities Institute's Global Education Program as an instructor for Guangfa Securities and Shenyin Wanguo Securities (China).
Mark has taught corporate finance, international business, and wealth management at the college level since 1999. He is a partner with Jay Taylor of Taylor Hard Money Advisors Inc. He co-edited the textbook "Financial Planning Awareness" with Henry Katz, CFP, RFP, and maintains a private, investment planning practice specializing in business structuring, leveraged investing, and international travel safety. He is a member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists, and currently serves as a technical reviewer for the International Conference for Internet Technology and Secured Transactions.
For three years, he served as Controller for a national Canadian charity responsible for all aspects of financial management including treasury and operational responsibilities for a multi-million dollar budget and investment portfolio, strategic financial planning, funding development, and asset protection. Prior to this, he served as an Administrator for a private residential school. Together with a finance committee, he supervised all aspects of budgeting, cash flow, and investment control in addition to audit, endowment, and program development responsibilities.
